How it works: rent a rod by the hour (roughly NT$350–550/hr), bait the hook with chicken liver or shrimp paste, and sit at an indoor pool of giant river prawns (泰國蝦). Whatever you catch, the staff salt-grill or stir-fry for you on the spot (a small cooking fee), and you eat it with cold Taiwan Beer. Many places run 24 hours, add KTV and claw machines, and it's perfect for a group. Staff will set up your rig for first-timers.
Tips: hold still and wait for two tugs before you lift. Twist the head off before grilling. Go after 21:00 when it's lively.
